Create and Keep Good Jobs
Brevard County is unique in its heavy reliance of government-related jobs. We may be facing unprecedented economic challenges as funding for the space program shifts. There will be many contractors reevaluating their investment and commitment to our community. Strong leadership will be required to ensure stability as the space coast evolves with new programmatic priorities. As a lifelong resident who has made a commitment, like others, to raise their families here, I will work hard to keep and create good jobs for this area.
Growth
Let's keep rural Brevard County rural and maintain the character of our unique communities. To its credit, Brevard County has rejected the suburban sprawl that plagues the rest of Florida. New development should be carefully planned and all growth should pay its own way in order to minimize its impact on roads, schools, and the environment.
Protect our Parks and Open Space
Open space preserves habitat for wildlife, maintains the health of ecosystems, preserves scenic vistas, saves productive agricultural land, allows cities and towns to retain their distinct identities, and provides opportunities for recreation and solace. We are truly blessed in Brevard County with some of the most pristine parks and open spaces in the world. I believe our emphasis in the next years should shift to management and maintenance of the properties that we already own.
Good Government
I support open, responsive government because I’m convinced that the best solutions require the energy and wisdom of an engaged citizenry. In preparation for running for office, I’ve already met many people throughout the county and asked for their perspectives. If elected, I will continue to listen and learn.
Stronger Voice for North Brevard
As County Commissioner, I will create a stronger voice for northern Brevard County. I will make sure that the north has a fair shot at new business and investment, while representing the entire county.
